Whole-Home Rewiring for Kennedale Homes

Aging wiring seldom quits in one go. It heats, works loose and wears down until a breaker starts tripping or an outlet gets scorched. We swap it out in planned phases, make only the openings the job needs, and turn your power back on before we leave every day.

When Rewiring Is the Right Call

Rewiring means running new cable from the panel to every outlet, switch and fixture, then retiring the old runs. It makes sense when the wiring itself is the problem: brittle insulation, no ground wire, aluminum branch circuits, or years of add-ons that no longer make sense together.

It is a big decision, so we treat it like one. We open a few boxes, test circuits and look in the attic before we suggest anything. If spot repairs or a few new circuits will solve the problem, we will tell you and point you to our electrical repair work instead.

Most homes around Kennedale sit on slab foundations, so new runs usually come down from the attic into the walls. Planning those routes carefully is what keeps wall damage small and the job moving.

What Your Rewire Includes

Fresh branch circuits
New grounded copper cable runs to every room, with circuits sized for the way you use the house now, kitchens, bathrooms and laundry included.
New outlets, switches and boxes
Worn boxes and old devices are removed. Grounded outlets replace them, with GFCI and AFCI protection wherever code requires it.
A look at your panel
We confirm whether the panel can handle the new circuits. If it can't, we tell you why and price a panel upgrade on its own line so every cost is visible.
Permit and inspections
We handle the permit paperwork and schedule every inspection your city or county requires. One of our team meets the inspector and explains the work on site.
Wired smoke and CO alarms
Where code calls for it, we hardwire and interconnect smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, so when one goes off they all do.
Cleanup every day
We cover floors and furniture, vacuum the dust before we leave each day, and haul away the old wire.

Signs Your Wiring Is Ready to Be Replaced

  • Two-prong outlets throughout

Ungrounded outlets mean no ground path for surge protectors or modern electronics. Swapping in three-prong outlets without a ground only hides the problem.

  • Aluminum branch wiring

Many homes from the 1960s and 1970s used aluminum for outlet and light circuits. It expands and loosens at connections over time, which can overheat devices.

  • Heat or a burning smell

If a cover is warm to the touch, or you notice discoloring around the slots, a connection behind it is breaking down. Unplug whatever is on it, leave it alone and let us take a look.

  • Breakers that trip with ordinary use

When the vacuum or a hair dryer keeps knocking out power, circuits are often overloaded or the wiring is worn.

  • Extension cords as permanent fixes

Power strips chained across a room usually mean the house never had enough outlets for how you live in it now.

How a Rewiring Job Runs

  1. 1

    Walkthrough and testing

We go room by room, open sample boxes, check the attic and test circuits. You see what we find, with photos of anything worrying.

  2. 2

    Written plan and estimate

You get a line-item estimate showing the circuits, devices, permit and any panel work. We also map which rooms we will do on which days.

  3. 3

    Rough-in, a section at a time

We fish new cable through attic and walls, cutting small access holes only where the route requires. Power is restored to finished areas before we head out each evening.

  4. 4

    Inspection

The inspector reviews the rough-in before walls are closed up. We fix anything flagged right away.

  5. 5

    Trim-out and final test

New devices and covers go on, every circuit is tested and labeled at the panel, and we walk you through what changed.

What Changes the Price of Rewiring

No two houses are wired alike, so we base the price on what the walkthrough shows us, not a per-square-foot guess. Each part of the job is listed separately in the estimate, so nothing pops up later.

Square footage and floor plan
Additional rooms and circuits take more cable and more hours. A one-story home is usually faster to route than a two-story one.
Getting into the attic and walls
A roomy, open attic keeps the work moving. Cramped attics, vaulted ceilings or insulation piled over the work area slow it down.
What your panel can carry
A panel that's full, dated or too small for the new circuits will need replacing, which adds to the total.
Wall surfaces and repairs
Heavy texture or paneling changes how we cut openings and how we fix them. We spell out which patching is included before we begin.
Extra circuits and upgrades
With the walls already open, adding kitchen circuits, new lighting or a circuit for a future EV charger often costs less than doing it down the road.

Common Rewiring Questions

Something not covered here? (682) 841-6649

Do we have to move out during the rewire?

Most families stay put. We work one section at a time and turn power back on in completed areas every day, so you have lights and a working fridge each night. We'll let you know in advance which rooms will be off and when.

How long will the job take?

It depends on the size of the house, how workable the attic is and when the inspector is available. After our walkthrough, we give you a day-by-day plan so you know what's coming before work begins.

Will you have to tear open my walls?

No. We go through the attic and the existing wall cavities and make small, clean openings only where needed. Your estimate lists each of those spots and how we'll patch it.

Do you take care of the permit?

We do, and the paperwork stays off your plate. We apply for it, schedule the inspections your city or county requires, and leave the walls open until the inspector approves the new wiring.

Will I also need a new panel?

Not necessarily. If your panel is in good condition with enough space and capacity for the new circuits, it stays. If it isn't, we show you the reason and price the panel upgrade separately.

Do I need a full rewire, or can you repair just the problem areas?

When the trouble is confined to a few circuits, repairs may do the job, and we'll tell you so. When the insulation is falling apart or the house has no grounding, spot fixes usually mean chasing one failure after the next.
