Lighting Installation in Kennedale

Dim rooms, a dated fixture, or a patio that goes dark at sunset are all easy to live with until you don't have to. We install recessed lights, fixtures, fans and outdoor lighting in your home, wired properly and tested before we pack up.

Better light, wired the right way

Good lighting changes how a room works. A kitchen with lights under the cabinets is safer to cook in. A hallway with a switch at both ends means no more walking in the dark. A ceiling fan that doesn't wobble keeps a bedroom comfortable through a long Texas summer.

What you don't see matters just as much. Every new light needs a box rated for its weight, a circuit with room for the load, and connections that stay tight for years. We look at all of that before we cut a hole, so the light you pick is the light that ends up working well.

We treat your home the way we'd want a neighbor to treat ours. That means drop cloths down, careful cuts in drywall, and a straight answer if an idea won't work as planned.

Lighting work we handle

Recessed and wafer lights
We lay out recessed lights so they light the room evenly instead of making spots and shadows. In ceilings below an attic, we use fixtures rated for contact with insulation, which matters when attic temperatures climb in summer.
Fixture swaps and chandeliers
Replacing an old fixture sounds simple, but heavy chandeliers and pendants need a box and mounting that can carry them. We check the box, the wiring and the ground before hanging anything new.
Ceiling fans
A fan needs a fan-rated box braced to the framing, not a standard light box. We install that support, balance the blades and set up the wall control or remote.
Dimmers and smart switches
Many LED bulbs flicker or buzz on older dimmers. We match the dimmer to the bulbs so the lights fade smoothly, and we wire smart switches that need a neutral the right way.
Under-cabinet and accent lighting
We run low-profile lighting under kitchen cabinets and along shelves, with the driver hidden and the switch where you'll actually reach for it.
Outdoor and security lighting
Porch lights, flood lights, landscape lighting and motion sensors, all with weather-rated fittings and protected outdoor connections. Photocells and timers can handle the on and off for you.

Signs it's time for new lighting or a closer look

  • Rooms that stay dim

If you're using lamps in the middle of the day or squinting at the stove, the room likely needs more light or better placement.

  • Flickering or buzzing

Flicker after a bulb change usually points to a dimmer mismatch. Flicker with standard switches can mean a loose connection, which we'd want to find before adding anything new.

  • Fixtures that run hot

Discolored trim, a burnt smell or brittle wires at an old fixture are signs of heat damage. That is worth fixing even if the light still turns on.

  • A wobbling ceiling fan

Constant wobble often means the fan is hanging from a box that was never meant to hold it.

  • A dark yard or driveway

If you come home to a dark walkway, outdoor lighting with a motion sensor or timer makes the trip from car to door safer.

How a lighting job goes

  1. 1

We talk it through on the phone

You tell us what you want to light and what's bothering you about the current setup. We set a time for a service visit that fits your schedule.

  2. 2

    We look before we plan

At your home we check the circuit, the attic or crawl access, and the boxes in place. Then we explain what's involved and give you the cost in writing before any work starts.

  3. 3

We protect the space and do the work

Floors and furniture get covered. We cut only what's needed, run the wiring, mount the supports and install the fixtures. When the job calls for paperwork with the city, we file it ourselves and meet the inspector, so you aren't stuck sorting that out.

  4. 4

    We test and tidy up

Every light, switch and dimmer gets tested with you there. We patch our openings so they're ready for paint, clean up the dust and walk you through any new controls.

What affects the cost of lighting installation

Two jobs that look the same on paper can be quite different once we see the ceiling. We price each one after the visit, line by line, so you know what you're paying for before we begin.

Number and type of fixtures
Six recessed lights take more time than one fixture swap. Heavy chandeliers and fans need extra bracing.
Access to the ceiling
An open attic above makes running wire straightforward. A second-floor ceiling or a vaulted room means more careful fishing and sometimes more patching.
New circuits or switches
Lights on an existing switch cost less than lights that need a new circuit, a new switch location or three-way switching.
Condition of existing wiring
If we find damaged wires, missing grounds or overloaded circuits, we'll show you and explain the fix. Bigger issues may fall under our electrical repair work.
Outdoor runs
Exterior lighting may need weather-rated boxes, trenching or longer wire runs, which add time and material.

Lighting installation questions

Something not covered here? (682) 841-6649

Can you add recessed lights to a ceiling without tearing it apart?

Usually, yes. With attic access above, we can cut just the openings for each light and run the wire from above. Where there's no access, we may make a few small holes to fish wire, then patch them so they're ready for paint.

Will my new LED lights work with the dimmer I have?

Often they won't, and that's the most common cause of flicker and hum. We check the bulbs and fixtures you're using and fit a dimmer made for LED loads so the lights dim smoothly.

Can I buy my own fixtures?

Yes, and plenty of our customers do. Let us know what you've picked when you book so we can confirm the box, mounting and wiring will suit it. If a fixture needs extra support, we'll tell you before installing it.

Do I need a permit for new lighting?

A simple fixture swap usually doesn't, while new circuits or added wiring often do. The rules vary from city to city, so we confirm what applies at your address and arrange whatever paperwork and inspection the work needs.

Can you add lights if my breaker panel is already full?

Sometimes we can add LED lighting to an existing circuit because it draws so little. If the circuit or panel has no room, we'll explain the options, which may include our panel upgrades service.
